This past Saturday, December 11th, PTA’s “Comité de Obra Social”, COS, delivered the gift baskets donated by the CCB Community to the “Un Regalo con Amor” initiative. These  baskets packed with groceries and toys benefited 150 students and their families from the “Institución Educativa La Buitrera”.

Despite the rainy weather conditions, families showed up to receive their gifts with love as students from the CCB Band (with piano, trumpet, ukelele, saxophone, drums and bass) gave a concert featuring Christmas Carols such as “Feliz Navidad”, “Tutaina” and “Antón” with the direction of our Music teacher, Arbey Castro. The crowd was so delighted that they even asked for an encore! Two of our Class of 2022 Seniors, Sara García Girón and José Fabio Fonseca, as well as a member of our Maintenance Staff, Duberney Londoño, rolled up their sleeves and helped out during the entire activity.

Every gift that the COS handed out came with a letter penned by the donating families wishing their counterparts a Merry Christmas. In return, families from the “Institución Educativa La Buitrera” wrote back with letters of gratitude. For Fernanda Valencia, a student from this school, “Un Regalo con Amor” was a well organized gesture.

“The community in this area lives under a complex situation. Some children work and study but we manage to get by. This activity was very well coordinated, and we are totally grateful to Colombo Británico.” said Fernanda.

“It’s been many years since we received this kind of gift or activity, we are grateful to the Colegio Colombo Británico and their families for this beautiful activity”, said Maria Cielo Colorado, a resident of the neighbourhood.

We want to thank our CCB families for showing their love with those who needed it most. ¡Corazón Colombo, We Are One!
