Jacobo Gutiérrez Nates, a fourth-grade student, secured victory in the under-9 category at the international tournament Copa Ciudad Bogotá. With his team, Leyendas del Valle, he claimed silver in this tournament, held from 8th to 14th December 2023.
Jacobo expressed his admiration for Messi and revealed that for him, football goes beyond just being a game. He sees it as a commitment that involves dedication, striving to be better every day, and continuous learning.
“It’s not just for fun, I think it’s a sport that will have a big impact on me when I’m older,” Jacobo tells us. He started practicing this sport at the age of 3 and currently plays as a midfielder.
He trains on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and on the weekends, he participates with his team in different football leagues such as the Valle del Cauca league, talent scouts, among others.
Jacobo also mentioned that he may travel with his team, Leyendas del Valle, to Buenos Aires this year to compete in an international tournament. Without a doubt, this is a competition that will allow him to continue strengthening his skills in the sport.

Jacobo Gutiérrez Nates, estudiante del grado cuarto, ganó en la categoría sub 9 el torneo internacional Copa Ciudad Bogotá. Con su equipo Leyendas del Valle se llevó la plata en este torneo que se jugó del 08 al 14 de diciembre de 2023.
Jacobo nos expresó su admiración por Messi y reveló que para él, el fútbol va más allá de ser solo un juego, lo ve como un compromiso que implica dedicación, ser mejor cada día y un continuo aprendizaje.
“No es solamente por diversión, me parece que es un deporte que cuando sea mayor de edad me va a impactar mucho”, nos cuenta Jacobo quién comenzó a practicar este deporte a la edad de 3 años y actualmente se desempeña en la posición de volante.
Entrena los martes, miércoles y jueves y los fines de semana participa con su equipo en diferentes ligas como la vallecaucana, cazatalentos entre otras.
Jacobo también nos contó que posiblemente viajará con su equipo Leyendas del Valle a Buenos Aires, para disputar un torneo internacional, sin duda alguna es una competencia que le permitirá seguir fortaleciendo sus habilidades en el deporte.
