Zoe, Winner of doubles tennis

On the 4th and 5th of November, Zoe Leyva Lujan, 5D student, won the tennis doubles tournament and reached the semi-finals in the 12 year old category, held as part of the Fedecoltenis National Festival held in Armenia, Quindio at the Bolo Club facilities.

“At the beginning of the competition I felt a bit nervous. After the first match I felt much better and I started to play very well, to feel confident with myself and I won”, said the student.

Zoe is very committed to her sport. She has been practising tennis for a year with a lot of effort trying to be the best in her competitions. Zoe considers that her strong skill on the court is working the angles, where she manages to put the ball with top spin in places where her opponent can’t reach. She trains every day: three days a week she trains for 3 hours and the rest of the days she dedicates 2 hours. She admires the Belarusian tennis player, Aryna Sabalenka for her aggressive and intense style with which she manages to intimidate her opponents. 

She enjoys the sport very much and hopes for continued success in her tennis career.

El pasado 4 y 5 de noviembre, la estudiante Zoe Leyva Luján de 5D, ganó el torneo de dobles en tenis y llegó a semifinales en la categoría de 12 años, realizado en el marco del Festival Nacional Fedecoltenis que se llevó a cabo en Armenia, Quindio en las instalaciones del Bolo Club.

“Al comienzo de la competencia me sentí un poco nerviosa. Ya después del primer partido me sentí mucho mejor y empecé a jugar muy bien, a sentirme confiada conmigo misma y lo gané”, comentó la estudiante.

Zoe es una estudiante muy comprometida con su deporte. Practica tennis hace 1 año con mucho esfuerzo para ser la mejor en las competencias. Zoe considera que su fuerte en la cancha es el trabajo de ángulos, donde logra poner la pelota con top spin en lugares a los que su adversario no logra llegar. Todos los días entrena: tres días a las semana hace 3 horas y el resto de días dedica 2 horas. Admira a la tenista Bielorrusa, Aryna Sabalenka por su estilo agresivo e intenso con el que logra intimidar a sus oponentes. 

Ella disfruta mucho de este deporte y espera seguir obteniendo éxitos en su carrera deportiva.
