On November 4 2021, The National Honor Society Induction Ceremony was held in which 33 CCB Secondary students were honoured not only for their high academic performance but also for fulfilling the 4 pillars of the organisation – leadership, service, knowledge and character. The ceremony was held in the Main Auditorium.

“We are gathered here to formally recognize those students who have been selected by the faculty of our school for successfully completing their candidacy and are being inducted as new members of our NHS chapter. For current members and those former members who may be among our guests, we hope this will serve to remind you of the standards of excellence you too are charged with maintaining as members of the nation’s oldest, largest, and most prestigious student recognition program”. mentioned Silvia Franco, Interim Secondary Head of Section.

Most notably, the NHS cord was awarded to teachers Angela María Gómez, Reinaldo Muñoz, Rogelio Pérez, Romel Castro and Camilo Miranda, as a token of appreciation for their hard work, commitment and dedication in supporting the students who are members of The National Honor Society.

One of the most touching moments was when they highlighted the pillars of the NHS. Each student member of the NHS board gave a speech on one of the 4 pillars. After the words were spoken, each student lit a candle to symbolise each of the 4 principles.

At the end of the Induction Ceremony, the students belonging to the Society were called up to receive their diplomas and pins that commit them to follow the path of leadership, scholarship, service and character that will enable them to constantly improve in every aspect of their lives. Each member took the stage to a rousing round of applause from the audience, received their diploma and signed the pledge given to them by their teachers along with pins and badges.
