¡Bienvenido al Colegio Colombo Británico!
Rewind nearly 20 years, when I first visited the Colombo, I remember what an impact the school had on me as a young, rookie Head of School. I was in awe at the sense of pride and tradition one feels walking around the gorgeous 11.6-hectare campus.
I took several ideas back to my school in Bogota and replicated what I had picked up during that visit. One of those learnings was the acclaimed International Baccalaureate. We are very proud of the fact that we are a full IB Continuum school (one of only two schools in Colombia), and equally gratified that we were the first school in Colombia in 1976 to offer the IBDP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme) and the second in Latin America to do so.
During that visit in 2006, never did I imagine in my wildest dreams that I would have the privilege and honour to be the 14th Headmaster of such a fine educational institution, and one that is iconic in Cali and Colombia. It’s pioneering spirit since its inception has continued to shape the lives of young people for over 67 years.
La vida es extraordinaria, ya que me encontré visitando el Colombo de nuevo en 2008 para una evaluación LAHC y de nuevo en 2017 como Presidente de la visita de acreditación CIS (Consejo de Escuelas Internacionales). La vida tenía planes para mí y mi familia de regresar a Colombia, y a Cali, la ciudad natal de mi esposa, Carolina. Estoy muy orgulloso de llamar a mi familia y a mí mismo parte de la familia Colombo. Una cosa es cierta, como padre con la perspectiva de un educador internacional, tengo las escuelas a un nivel muy alto para mis dos propios hijos. Estoy encantado de que mis hijas reciban una experiencia educativa global y completa que las diferenciará y las preparará para la vida. Como dice nuestra Misión: "Preparamos mentes y corazones para afrontar los retos del futuro".
We have extremely talented and passionate educators, and together with our administrative and operations staff, we have ambitious plans for the future, guided by our 2025 Strategic Plan. This document will guide our journey as we seek to become better every day.
With over 1,200 students, 800 families and 250 staff members, we are a formidable learning community driven by an enormous heart! “Corazon Colombo” defines the very ethos of a place we call home. A kind and caring school where we live our motto – “Gentes Moresque docendo iungimus” (We unite peoples and cultures together through education).
