From Monday 11th to Tuesday 12th October PTA’s “El Pulguero” took place at the Casa Colombo. This is an important event organised by the Parents and Teachers Association, PTA.

In the marketplace of “El Pulguero” all kinds of clothes or belongings that the CCB Parents donated in very good condition are offered so that they can have a second life with whoever wishes to take them from the Community. As every year, CCB collaborators took part in this activity, acquiring clothes or objects in excellent condition.

“We have been holding this event for more than 10 years. With this we collect funds for the Social Work Committee so that we can do some activities with the little schools that we

support or some social work activity. This is the purpose of the event”, said Paola Cortés, Vice-President of the PTA who was present at “El Pulguero”. This activity was possible thanks to the effort and dedication of the PTA mothers.

Many of the collaborators made multiple purchases, which contributes to reaching the goal of carrying out social work activities. It is also important to note that we were able to collect a large number of donated items, which allowed for a varied offer and a larger number of participants in this activity.

Thanks to the families who participated with their donations and to the PTA for making it happen! We Are One!

Welcome to our big CCB family!

In other news, on Friday 1st October, the CCB Parents and Teachers Association, PTA, welcomed new teachers to Colegio Colombo Británico. This took place in the Cafeteria where each table was specially decorated with sweets, a plate of typical food from Valle del Cauca with empanadas, aborrajado, marranitas and a lulada. They were also given important information about the relevance of the PTA within the school community and its tireless work to weave bonds of love and a sense of belonging among the members of the CCB.

One by one the new members of this giant Colombo family arrived. The President of the PTA, Luz Elena Villa, together with Headmaster Nick Reeves, expressed words of welcome to all those present. Each of them introduced themselves and expressed how they felt about belonging to the CCB.

“There are a lot of new people who need information. Many of them are foreigners, so we as PTA give them all kinds of information to make them feel at home in the city. We are always there for them,” said Luz Elena Villa, President of the PTA.

It was an event full of affection, gratitude and respect for those who will now be present in the holistic formation of their children. The PTA constantly carries out this type of reception, not only for the newly arrived teaching staff or collaborators, but also for the new families who require the necessary information to live this new chapter in their lives.

For more than 25 years, the PTA has been holding a welcome for all new staff. This event is a special tradition within the CCB.
