On the 8th of May, Alejandro Ortiz, alumni from the 2022 promotion, took part in the inter-collegiate tournament representing the CCB. The event was held in the city of Pereira, and several schools from different cities in the country took part in the event. At the end of the event, 248 medals were awarded to each participant. Alejandro Ortiz won 5 bronze medals in: 200m in breast, 50m breast, 4×50 mixed, 4×100 mixed and 4×200 freestyle.

“The training sessions I enjoy the most are the activities we do outside like normal training, which are not so much training intensively, but rather enjoying it. On the days that we do relays which involve the whole group and it brings out the competitiveness in everyone, it’s something that is cool to do as it’s something that doesn’t come around very often,” Alejandro revealed.

On the other hand, during the competition, Alejandro tells us that “It was a bit stressful” as he was in the middle of his IB exams at the time “It was a lot of stress during the competition, but it didn’t stop me from doing well. During the tournament, I try to stay calm, I always try to keep my cool and not to think about the outcome but to give my best in the competition”.

Congratulations Alejandro on your achievements in swimming!
